Jeff Sheng's FEARLESS @ PRIDE House Vancouver

Talented photographer and teacher Jeff Sheng was at PRIDE House Vancouver on Sunday to present photos from his celebrated exhibit FEARLESS (the main exhibit is on display at PRIDE House Whistler). He interacted with the audience and answered questions regarding the exhibition and its future, as well as Jeff's future endeavours. FEARLESS features over a hundred out and proud gay athletes at the college and high school level. Jeff has toured all over North America with his project. You can see FEARLESS at the Pan Pacific Whistler Village or in Vancouver at Qmunity for the duration of the Olympics. www.jeffsheng.com. www.pridehouse.ca.

You Gotta be OUT Here: A Celebration of Pride in BC

It is a high-spirited time in Vancouver right now with the Olympics. Hundreds of thousands of people are packed in the city and celebration is in the air. So what a good time for the gay community to come together in celebration as well. LOV magazine joined its peers, colleagues and friends at the BC Pavilion at the Van Art Gallery on February 19, 2010 for "You Gotta be OUT Here: A Celebration of Pride in BC". The energy was invigorating and it felt like everyone in our community was in attendance. Consider this a precursor to Vancouver Pride 2010!

Cheers,

The LOV Team xoxo

LOV @ PRIDE House Vancouver

The official opening of PRIDE House Vancouver happened last Thursday in front of a crowd of enthusiastic supporters and media. City Councillor Tim Stevenson was there to help with the ceremony. Towards the end of his speech he reached in his jacket and pulled out...LOV magazine! Apparently our friendly neighbourhood councillor was smitten with our current cover boy, Olympian Emanuel Sandhu. We here at LOV are honoured to be a part of an historic occasion. If you haven't checked out the PRIDE Houses (Whistler and Vancouver) yet, do so now. Show your support. Show your pride.

Gone Too Soon: Brendan Burke 1988 - 2010

LOV is deeply saddened that Brendan Burke died February 5, 2010 in a car accident. The 21 year old college hockey player made headlines around the world for coming out as gay. He is the son of hockey giant Brian Burke. LOV magazine just wrote about Brendan in the Feb/Mar issue. He was a role model and inspiration to young gay men in sport who are struggling with their sexual orientation. LOV would like to extend our sincerest condolences to Brendan's family. R.I.P Brendan Burke.
